Dragon 1:35 - German Nachtjager, Berlin 1945 - Plastic Figure Model Kit #6089
An active infrared device codenamed the Vampir (ZG 1229) was developed for the Wehrmacht for use on rifles and machine guns at night time. The Wehrmacht soldiers started to use Vampir gear at the final stages of WWII. Soldiers who carried the Vampir were known as Nachtjäger - night hunters. Along with the device, they also carried a 13.5 kilogram wooden cased battery for the light, and another battery inside a gas mask container to power the image converter. The sensor operated in the upper infrared spectrum and therefore was not sensitive to body heat.
The kit includes parts for the assembly of four German soldiers, three with night scope rifles (the Vampir mounted on the MP44) and one with an anti-aircraft shoulder fire weapon - the Fliegerfaust.

From 1941 to 1944, over 15,500 Type 166 Schwimmwagen cars were produced, which made the VW 166 the most mass-produced amphibious car in history.
The kit includes parts for the assembly of one vehicle with a driver. Certain accessories pictured are not included.

The German Panther tank was produced from 1943 until the end of WWII and deployed on the Eastern and Western Fronts in Europe. The tank was developed as a replacement for the Panzer III and Panzer IV tanks and was intended to counter the Soviet T-34. The Panther had a powerful 700hp Maybach engine and a turret placed far back on the hull mounting a 75mm L/70 cannon. The Panther's excellent firepower and protection made it one of the best tanks of World War II. The Panther was easier to produce and maintain than the Tiger I, but it is often considered to be as effective as the latter. The Ausf.G included versions with heater unit installed over the left engine fan, and with lower lip piece added to the mantlet to eliminate shot trap.

In the early 1930's engineers were concerned about the downfalls of the tanks produced at that time: the tracks became damaged extremely fast during long off-road driving and destroyed roadbeds. Fully-tracked tanks also moved rather slowly which made their transportation unbearable.
The solution seemed to be wheeled caterpillar tanks that were supposed to use wheels when driving along public roads, and tracks in off-road environments. In the Soviet Union the idea was realised in 1935 when the T-37B prototype was built and tested. However, it showed poor performance and revealed a number of irreparable defects. Consequently, the T-37B was never used in combat.

The Treaty of Versailles, signed at the end of WWI, forbade Germany to have or produce tanks and armoured fighting vehicles of any kind. However, the German Government managed to evade the Treaty provisions by authorising the production of 15 tank hulls without superstructures or turrets. Disguised as 'training vehicles' those tanks were aimed at military reinforcement of Germany.
The Ausf. A ohne Aufbau was one of the training vehicles designed at that time. Featuring an entirely open interior without a superstructure and turret, it had room for five crew members: a student driver, an instructor and three more observers behind them.

The Gravel and Sand Fixer is designed to help you glue earth or sand textures and various small objects, like gravel or stones, to your diorama base. This alcohol-based adhesive is absorbed into the surface and unlike regular white glue it leaves no plastic finish over it.
It is easy to apply the fixer with a brush or an airbrush, and it can be removed with alcohol. To shorten the drying time you can use a hairdryer or any other source of heat. Matt when dry, this product can give your models a light satin look which can be remedied with a matt varnish.

Mountain infantry men carried fewer automatic weapons than regular infantry and could be identified by the edelweiss insignia on their sleeves and caps. Machine gunners usually had more ammunition than the regular infantry.

Land-Wasser-Schlepper, an unarmed amphibious tractor of German production, was deployed by the Third Reich troops during the Second World War. It was intended for both land and naval operations. The vehicle had twin propellers and twin rudders similar to the ones of a ferry boat, and travelled on steel chain tracks.
The first tractors were used during the German invasion of the United Kingdom, known under the code name Operation Sea Lion, in order to tow barges and carry vehicles ashore.
LWS's proved to be good in action, but the factories at that time suffered from the lack of raw materials, so the tractor production was limited.

The Pz.Kpfw. 38(t) light tank was developed before the beginning of World War II. The initial design belonged to Czech engineers, but after the German occupation of Czechoslovakia the tank was included in the German combat arsenal.
Being a pre-war designed tank, the Panzerkampfwagen 38(t) had common features of the tanks from that period, such as riveted armour and a rear engine. Still some changes were made by the Germans, with increased armour thickness and a loader position added to the turret being the main ones.
The tank saw active service during the military incursion into Poland, France and the Soviet Union, but it became obsolete in 1942 for it no longer proved effective on the battlefield. However, the Pz.Kpfw. 38(t) served as a prototype for the Marder III and partly for the Jagdpanzer 38 tank destroyers.
The Pz.BfWg 38(t) was a command tank also originated from Czechoslovakia and used by the German Army during World War II. It was equipped with a radio station and a frame antenna. The total of 300 Pz.BfWg's were produced.

Academy 1:35 - M60A2 US Army - Plastic model kit #13296
The M60A2 was an updated version of the M60 Patton main battle tank developed by the USA in the Cold War era. Redesigned many times during its term of service, the M60 series was popular with the US Army and among US Cold War allies.
Appearing during the 'Space Age', the M60A2 got the nickname 'Starship'. The tank was equipped with a 152 mm gun which could fire both artillery shells and the Shillelagh antitank missiles. It also had a machine-gun cupola giving it a good view on the battlefield.
Nevertheless, the M60A2 showed poor results in combat and was quickly replaced by its later modifications.

Academy 1:35 - M18 Hellcat (ACA01375) - Plastic model kit #13255
The American M18 Hellcat, officially known as the 76 mm Gun Motor Carriage M18, was a tank destroyer actively used by the U.S. troops at the Italian and North-West European fronts during World War II. Due to its light armour, roofless turret and small overall size, the M18 Hellcat was one of the fastest tank destroyers produced in the U.S., and thus gained the reputation of the most efficient American armoured vehicle of World War II.
However, the open turret which provided for the high velocity, could not provide the crew with proper protection against enemy shells. In addition, the 76 mm gun power was not enough to cause any serious damage in German Tiger and Panther tanks. Later, as a solution to this problem, High Velocity Armour Piercing ammunition was added to the Hellcat design thus improving its penetration abilities.
Once the war ended, plenty of M18 tank destroyers were acquired by other countries such as Yugoslavia, China and Venezuela.
