Academy 1:35 - German Pz. Bef. Wg. 35 (t) Command Tank - Plastic model kit #13313

One of the Czech tanks used by the Germans was the Panzerkampfwagen 35 (t). The letter 't' in the designation stood for 'tschechisch', the German word for 'Czech'.

Overall 434 light Pz. Kpfw. 35 (t) tanks were built, with 244 seized by the Germans. About twenty Panzerkampfwagen 35 (t)'s were converted into the Panzerbefehlswagen 35 (t), a command tank. The Germans used these tanks in the early stages of the war, primarily during the invasion of Poland, France and the initial invasion of the Soviet Union.

The tank was armed with two 7.92mm MG 37(t) machine guns and one 3.7cm KwK 34(t) gun firing a 1.8lb armour piercing shell. The vehicles featured additional radio equipment and had a conspicuous frame antenna behind the turret. Several Pz. Bef. Wg. 35 (t)'s were converted into the standard Panzerkampfwagen 35 (t) in 1941. By 1942, the Panzerbefehlswagen 35 (t)'s were sold off or retired.
